Sharing a post from Green Futures Research and Design Lab and their floating wetlands work from Winter quarter 2020!

Sharing a post from Green Futures Research and Design Lab and their floating wetlands work from Winter quarter 2020!Green Futures Lab (GFL) is back at it! While we are continuously adjusting to the "Stay at Home" period during our 2020 field season, we still wanted to share project updates with the community on the Duwamish Floating Wetlands Project. Earlier this year GFL began the construction of the BioBarges for 2020. With an interdisciplinary team of University of Washington Huskies, we rolled up our sleeves together during winter quarter and began prototyping the **NEW** Biofilter 2.0s. These Biofilter 2.0s are much lighter than our 2019 prototypes, and help create a softer edge for the Biobarges while out on the Duwamish River! Take a look at photos from one of our class construction parties! {{Please note: These photos were taken between Jan-Feb 2020 before Covid19 orders. Please stay healthy by staying home and maintaining physical distancing}} Photos courtesy of Alicia Highland | UW Graduate Student in Landscape Architecture (MLA) ... See MoreSee Less
