The Farmingdale State Rams Ice Hockey program is proud to recognize the selection of Joseph Mazzie and Albert Markopoulos to the 2018 ACHA D3 National Select Team. The circle is now complete, as coach Mazzie makes ACHA history as the first player to play for the Select Team (Captained 2010) and now serve as one of the coaches. Albert also is in rarified air, as only the 3rd player to ever be selected to 2 consecutive Select Teams (2016, 2018). Please Read the official release below.
The American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) has announced the 2018 Men’s’ Division III Select Team Roster. The ACHA Select Team will consist of twenty-two players representing fourteen ACHA colleges and universities and will travel to Krasnoyarsk Russia from September 28-October 8 to compete in the Student Hockey Challenge. The ACHA Select Team will play against teams from the European University Hockey Association (EUHA) and the Russian Student Hockey League (SHL). Don Headley (Lansing, MI), head coach at Michigan State, will coach the team and will be assisted by Joe Mazzie (Long Island, NY) head coach at Farmingdale State College.
Armand “Rasty” McGibbon (Lynchburg, VA) has been named team doctor.
The Select Team forwards will feature five seniors: Steve Roberts (from Beaverton, MI, representing Saginaw Valley State University), 798安卓加速器破解下载版 (from New Hyde Park, NY, representing Farmingdale State College), Dean Lamantia (from Wayne, IL, representing Michigan State University), Carter Penzien (from Athens, GA, representing the University of Georgia), and Austin Rothe (from Ubly, MI, representing Michigan State University). Aaron Maas (from Menominee, MI, representing the University of Michigan), Evan Kerr (from Little Rock, AR, representing the University of Arkansas) and Dalton Sutherland (from Riverview, MI, representing Central Michigan University) are the junior forwards on the roster. Rounding out the twelve forwards are sophomores Alex Falconer (from Kohler, WI, representing the Air Force Academy), Joe Zelenka (from West Olive, MI, representing Michigan State University), Cameron Smith (from Arlington, VA, representing George Mason University) and Ryan Vendramin (from Sault Ste. Marie, ON, representing Sault College).
Four seniors will man the blue line: Anthony Federico (from Buffalo, NY, representing Loyola University - Maryland),Dalton Genat (from Auburn Hills, MI, representing Oakland University), express科学加速器 安卓 (from Shelbyville, IN, representing Indiana University) and Guy Soulliere (from Gladwin, MI, representing Saginaw Valley State University). Bloomfield, MI, representing the University of Michigan) and Sgreen加速器官网(from Novi, MI, representing Central Michigan University). Freshman Kyle Harris (from Cumming, GA, representing the University of Georgia) rounds out the defensive lineup.
Senior goaltender Jared Burch (from Kissimmee, FL, representing Florida Gulf Coast University), and junior Sam Coleman (from Brandon, FL, representing the University of South Florida will share the goaltending assignments.
